BOTOX AND DYSPORT
Newtown MediSpa holds a Diamond level status with Allergan, the #1 manufacturer of injectables, and is in the Top 100 nationwide. We perform more injections than 99% of the practices across the nation.

Those dreaded wrinkles are an inevitable part of the aging process, but that doesn’t mean that you have to accept them. Cosmetic muscle relaxers, like Botox and Dysport, are perfect for this purpose. When administered by a trained professional, they can target the exact muscles responsible for wrinkles, all without hindering your ability to be expressive. By taking the time to use muscle relaxers to highlight your natural beauty, Newtown MediSpa strives to provide the best treatment in the area.
One of our first priorities is patient education, allowing you to know everything about available treatments, products and how they can help you achieve your goals. This allows you to make an informed decision regarding your treatment. Learn more about our patient education mission in our Being Botox Smart Blog article.
Botox vs Dysport

Cosmetic muscle relaxers will make you look fresher, healthier and more youthful. Understanding the differences between Botox and Dysport is important so you can make the best decision for you and your outcome.
These two wrinkle smoothing products are botulinum toxin A, a derived protein that works by relaxing targeted muscles. Both products smooth fine lines and wrinkles without interfering with your natural expression and are used to relax horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet, however, they are dosed differently.
Dysport is found to work a little faster than Botox, about 5 to 7 days as opposed to the usual 7 to 10 days for Botox. Dysport also tends to disperse into a wider area, which makes it an ideal treatment for areas such as the forehead but not an ideal for other areas, like around the eyes. At Newtown MediSpa, we use Botox about 80-90% of the time and have found that it produces more consistent results.
There is still much debate on which product lasts longer and whether more Dysport is needed to achieve the same result with Botox. However, regardless of which product is used, success depends on precise injection of just the right amount of product to achieve your desired result. You can be confident knowing your procedure will only be done by a licensed and trained professional with years of experience with injectable products.
Before and After Botox

Choosing the Right Practice
Our practice has achieved Diamond status from Allergan, the maker of Botox, Juvederm, and Kybella products, ranking us in the 79th (Top 100) of providers nationwide, which is based on the volume of Allergan products used. This means our injectors have an extremely high level of experience using these products, and that we have earned a reputation as a trusted provider.
Facial aesthetics is truly an art. Your provider needs more than the educational knowledge of how to inject. They need the artistic ability to know where to inject. As a result, your treatment will not only be delivered by some of the most skilled practitioners around, it will also be done in a soothing and safe environment, where patients come first.
Our mission is to strive for the highest level of integrity for our patients to make well-informed decisions about their treatments, with safety and superior outcome as our first priority. Click here to read more about our patient education mission Being Botox Smart.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the appointment?
Depending on the number of areas treated, Botox injections can be completed in as little as 30 minutes and can literally be done on your lunch break.
Does it hurt?
Some patients have told us they feel a slight sensation during the injections, so prior to your treatment, we will apply a topical numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable for you. This treatment uses very tiny needles, and patients experience only a small prick with each injection. There may be tiny red marks at the injection site after treatment that can be covered with concealer. Patients can return to work or other activities immediately after the procedure.
When will I see results?
Most patients see results within 7 to 10 days after Botox injections (and slightly earlier if receiving Dysport). Botox is FDA approved to last between 3 to 4 months and you'll need to continue with periodic treatments to maintain your results.
Since Botox is not an exact science, please contact us for a touch up if you still have excessive movement in the treated area. Touch ups are sometimes needed until your provider learns your facial anatomy and muscle reaction.
Where can I get Botox injected?
Botox is FDA approved to relax frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and the lines around the eyes (crow’s feet) to give the face a fresher, more youthful appearance. Other treatment uses for Botox include Bunny lines, Gummy lines, Hyperhidrosis, Lip lines and the prevention of migraines.
Will I have that "Frozen" look?
Injections can be easily tailored to meet your individual cosmetic goals. While some patients are looking for dramatic results, others are interested in achieving a subtler, more natural-looking improvement. This is something you will discuss with your provider at your free consultation.
Can my treatment be reversed?
No, Botox is not reversible. You will need to wait the 3 to 4 months for the affect to wear off.
