Microblading

Eyebrows are arguably the most important facial features we have. They come in all shapes and sizes, and correcting them can be a nightmare, as well as time-consuming. Our signature semi-permanent makeup treatment is revolutionary. Using a technique known as Microblading, we custom-create your brow strand-by-strand, for the most natural-looking results; perfectly filled-in,and balanced.

Newtown MediSpa's talented Microblading expert will work with you to create a custom brow that complements your facial type, hair color and features. Soon, you’ll be on your way to more beautiful, natural brows.

About Microblading

Microblading is designed for men and women who want to restore completely missing eyebrows, add fullness to thinning brows, or just reshape or fill in bare spots. This procedure is a longer lasting way to keep your brows exactly as you would like them. Microblading involves using a hand tool with nine or more tiny needles to create shallower cuts (mimicking hair follicles) on the skin and then letting pigment seep in. In simple terms, it’s a cosmetic tattoo but not a scary tattoo.

Depending on your skin's pigment retention, Microblading can last one to three years, so if you're a bit squeamish about making a permanent change, this just may be the ideal treatment for you.

Everyone's brows and goals are different. We want our patients to be completely comfortable before we move to the next step, so prior to treatment, our technician will take measurements and draw an outline of her vision, discussing and editing with you along the way. Then, she will create your brow by hand, strand by strand, stroke by stroke – bringing your brows back to life!

Microblading is a small procedure, but a procedure nonetheless. Make sure you’re not in a hurry when you come. Plan to be here for at least 1 to 1.5 hours for the consult, numbing (yes we do numb the area so there is less discomfort) and the procedure. After the procedure, you’ll still need to be cautious with the brows, especially for the first two weeks. Moisture is the first thing you’ll have to avoid, meaning no swimming or heavy workouts, no sauna. You'll need to return within 30 days of initial treatment, for your touch up. After 30 days, there will be a fee for a touch-up.

Before and After Microblading

Choosing the Right Practice

Every face is different, and we appreciate the beauty of yours. Facial aesthetics and harmony is truly an art, and the Microblading procedure varies from the artist's style, experience, and knowledge. As a result, your treatment will not only be delivered by some of the most skilled technicians around, it will also be done in a soothing and safe environment, where patients come first. Nonetheless, you should take caution and research who decides what your brows will look like for the next few years.

Our mission is to strive for the highest level of integrity for our patients to make well-informed decisions about their treatments, with safety and superior outcome as our first priority. Click here to read more about our patient education mission Being Botox Smart.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

In this procedure, a pigment is inserted under your skin in an artistic and meticulous style. Unlike regular tattooing, the pigment is manually and carefully implanted by a hand held device.

Does it hurt?

Some patients have told us they feel some pain during the procedure, however, we use effective numbing creams that are FDA approved. On a scale of 1 to 10 with “1” being no discomfort, clients often experience between a 3 and 6. Other factors such as menstrual cycles also affect the level of sensitivity.

How long will it last?

Eyebrow Microblading is semi-permanent, meaning it will fade out with time. It will last between 1 to 2 years, depending on how you take care of it and how your skin handles the pigment.

Will my results look natural?

Yes. Our Microblading technician is a true artist and, in the last 2 years, has treated over 600 men and women in the Connecticut and New York areas. Check out our before and after photos.

Is it safe?

All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The ingredients used have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Be wary of products that have not met safety standards, including those that contain “vegetable dyes” that are unstable and may change color after time. In addition, all our tools are single-use and discarded after the treatment.

What is my recovery time?

There is little to no downtime, however, the brow will take about two weeks to fully heal. The brow will soften in color by up to 40-50%. During this period, after-care procedures should be carefully followed.

How many sessions will I need?

Our full priced Microblading treatment includes the consult, initial procedure, and a "Touch up". The "Touch up" session is done within 30 days of the initial procedure and is extremely important to ensure perfect results. After 30 days, there will be a charge for touch-ups. Any other Microblading treatment (Groupon or Specials) do NOT include the "Touch up" price. Please ask your provider for the cost of this "Touch up".
