Eyebrows are arguably the most important facial features we have. They come in all shapes and sizes, and correcting them can be a nightmare, as well as time-consuming. Our signature semi-permanent makeup treatment is revolutionary. Using a technique known as Microblading, we custom-create your brow strand-by-strand, for the most natural-looking results; perfectly filled-in,and balanced.

Newtown MediSpa's talented Microblading expert will work with you to create a custom brow that complements your facial type, hair color and features. Soon, you’ll be on your way to more beautiful, natural brows.

About Microblading

Microblading is designed for men and women who want to restore completely missing eyebrows, add fullness to thinning brows, or just reshape or fill in bare spots. This procedure is a longer lasting way to keep your brows exactly as you would like them. Microblading involves using a hand tool with nine or more tiny needles to create shallower cuts (mimicking hair follicles) on the skin and then letting pigment seep in. In simple terms, it’s a cosmetic tattoo but not a scary tattoo.

Depending on your skin's pigment retention, Microblading can last one to three years, so if you're a bit squeamish about making a permanent change, this just may be the ideal treatment for you.

Everyone's brows and goals are different. We want our patients to be completely comfortable before we move to the next step, so prior to treatment, our technician will take measurements and draw an outline of her vision, discussing and editing with you along the way. Then, she will create your brow by hand, strand by strand, stroke by stroke – bringing your brows back to life!

Are you a Candidate?

Not everyone is a candidate for this treatment. That is why we offer complimentary consultations, so our Microblading expert can do a thorough assessment to see if there are any concerns regarding treatment and longevity.

If you have had a similar treatment in the past, by another technician, we do require a consultation before any treatment can be scheduled. Please know, we may not be able to treat you at all.

Before your Appointment

Microblading is a small procedure, but a procedure nonetheless, and it can be uncomfortable. Because of this, we require you to numb 20 to 30 minutes prior to your appointment. You can either arrive early to numb in our reception area, stop by and pick up the cream, or purchase it on our website. If you have any allergies to any "caine" medications, you will not be able to numb, so please notify us if this is the case. Depending upon your pain threshold, you may want to add on our Pronox gas which will relax you during treatment.

What to Expect at your Appointment

Microblading at Newtown MediSpa is a TWO step, TWO appointment process.

STEP ONE – FOUNDATION TREATMENT $399: At your Foundation appointment, our Microblading expert will review the procedure with you, take before imagery, work with you on your preferred shape and color, proceed with the treatment, take after imagery, and review post-care instructions. You will leave our office looking a bit like Groucho Marks (see image below), but it's so worth it. This initial appointment will last 30-40 minutes.

After the procedure, you’ll still need to be cautious with the brows, especially for the first two weeks. Moisture is the first thing you’ll have to avoid, meaning no swimming or heavy workouts, no sauna. Pre-purchase your Aquaphor so you'll be ready to keep your brows hydrated during the healing process. You will receive post-treatment instructions to take home for reference.

STEP TWO – PERFECTION TREATMENT $159: You'll need to return within 30 days of your Foundation treatment, for your Perfection treatment. This appointment is required to complete the Microblading process and is where we add hair strokes and make adjustments necessary to ensure flawless brows.

Here is an image of what you will look like after your treatment session. You'll leave the office with the "Groucho Marks" look. After one hour, you can gently remove the pigment. Your brows will appear darker (see image below) and will lighten/adjust over the healing process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone get Microbladed?

No, not everyone is a candidate for Microblading. That is why we offer complimentary consultations so our Microblading expert can determine if this treatment is for you.

How does it work?

In this procedure, a pigment is inserted under your skin in an artistic and meticulous style. Unlike regular tattooing, the pigment is manually and carefully implanted by a handheld device.

Does it hurt?

Some patients have told us they feel some pain during the procedure, however, we use effective numbing creams that are FDA approved. On a scale of 1 to 10 with “1” being no discomfort, clients often experience between a 4 and 7. Other factors such as menstrual cycles also affect the level of sensitivity.

We offer Pronox gas to make the treatment more comfortable (see video above). There is an additional charge for this add-on.

How long will it last?

Eyebrow Microblading is semi-permanent, meaning it will fade out with time. It will last between 1 to 2 years, depending on how you take care of it, how your skin handles the pigment, and your body's metabolism. We do recommend scheduling another session at the 6 to 9-month mark to refresh.

Will my results look natural?

Yes. Our Microblading technician is a true artist and, in the last 3 years, has treated over 800 men and women in the Connecticut and New York areas. Check out our before and after photos.

Is it safe?

All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The ingredients used have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Be wary of products that have not met safety standards, including those that contain “vegetable dyes” that are unstable and may change color after time. In addition, all our tools are single-use and discarded after the treatment.

What is my recovery time?

There is little to no downtime, however, the brow will take about two weeks to fully heal. The brow will soften in color by up to 40-50%. During this period, after-care procedures should be carefully followed. You will leave the office looking like "Groucho Marks" (see above "WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT").

How many treatments will I need?

Microblading at Newtown MediSpa is a TWO-STEP process: The FOUNDATION Treatment and the PERFECTION Treatment (see above "WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT"). The "PERFECTION" treatment touch-up is required to be done within 30 days of the initial procedure and is extremely important to ensure fabulous results.

If you require additional sessions, there will be a fee associated with that.
